Teacher's Day Celebration 2019

This year’s teacher’s day is different it is more fun. In Ilocos Sur National High School, not only the students prepared a presentation to the teachers but also the teachers prepared a presentation for the students, it is like a bonding of the students and the teachers, treating each other a friend and most important is they have fun together.

This day is one of the days that you don’t want to miss. There is so much fun, you can see teachers and students dancing, singing and also laughing. This day is only once a year, but the ISNHS made it lasts long and made it really worth it by having a good day at their school making the teachers enjoy their day and making them rest even if just for a while.

In this day the most important thing is making your teacher feel like he/she is the best teacher you have in your whole life.

Each grade prepared their dance number in the field demonstration.  Bulletin boards are updated and well-decorated. This is to have a good impression of the school from the guests, parents and other stakeholders of the school. Much so, the alumni of the school who would like to join and attend the celebration. The different activities in store for the students are highly anticipated. Long rehearsals are done to master the pieces to be presented, if not showcased in perfection. The highlight of the event was the dance number of each grade level, Mr. and Ms. ISNHS and the coronation ball is greatly awaited.

The Ylocos Region is very rich in many aspects. It is full of extraordinary historical events which made the region unique among the other regions. And this includes the foods, delicacies, literary works, tradition, ethnic music, handmade products etc.

Kannawidan Festival, a week-long celebration that celebrates and preserves stunning culture, customs and tradition of Ilocanos. During this festival different activities I held. This activities includes different competitions such as quiz bee, essay writing, painting and many more.

This is such a great and important occasion for all the Ilocanos. Because this is the time to reminisce our past, our culture and to treasure it for this is our identity. This is who we are, Ilocanos.

My Reflection 2nd Quarter

I learn how the internet works how does the thing you can see in the internet are made. I learn how to make webpages using HTMLs.

The most common problem is I always forgot to put endtags and the references. I address this challenges by always practicing and testing other tags. I have a problem in attending this class this quarter because of some activities in our school but with the help of my classmate I still coped up with the lessons I missed.

Moving on, I will use what I learn to the next quarter and to my life

The purpose of this intramural program is to provide fun, safe and structured play experiences that promote the physical, mental and social development of every child.

In connection to the HSM, we should always find a way to have fun in our schools, there is not much to do but if you love what you are doing you will find happiness in it and it’s fun.

Science Month Celebration

Science is a system for exploring and innovation. It can fuel our nation's economic growth. It can form a path for our young people in a competitive marketplace and it can fire our innovation. It also satisfy many basic needs and improve living standards.

This year, we celebrated the National Science Month with the theme:"Metabolize:Nourishing the Filipino Youth Towards National Well-being"

At just glance, it talks about eating nutritious foods and having healthy lifestyle. For accomplishing our daily task effectively is hard without proper nutrition.

However, if we analyze the theme, it seeks on having a safe and healthy environment. It also seeks on the youth to be better version of themselves. It includes socialization and having solutions on every challenge they meet. It helps the people to be innovators with the help of science and technology.

With this, it will lead us Filipinos to be national well-beings. for the betterment not only of one's self but of our nation.

Happy Schools Movement

School is where the children, the hope of our future , grow as a better person. It is a place together with the teachers mold the student for the best that he can be: enhancing his skill, discovering talents, overcoming weaknesses. these are just the few significant things that the school can give. however, in this generation, children lacks the eagerness to study and find school as a boring place.

With this, the Department of Education implemented the happy schools movement to promote every school in the region as a better and enjoyable place to study. This movement also aims to offer an alternative motion of the quality of education that values and nurtures learners' diverse talents and strengths.

In my experience, it is an effective way. It gives as fun in learning from different subjects and it makes our education joyful. we should support the happy school movement for school is full of fun and enjoyment.

Solidarity Cultural Festival

“Join us as we once again celebrate our unique culture this September with various activities,” Mayor Juan Carlos S. Medina said as he invites visitors and residents alike to enjoy interesting activities lined up for this year.

The Solidarity Food and Trade Fair at the Vigan Convention Center, Paseo de Vigan, and the Tres Patrimonio Zarzuela on  September 1 opened the month-long event.

Other events of the festival from September 3 to 7 include singing competitions, photography, zarzuela Ilocana (Ilocano stage play), dallot (a part of the Ilocano oral tradition of debate through  singing), kinnantaran (a form of debate between a man and a woman through singing), cultural quiz, sabayang pagbigas (speech choir), daniw (poetry), storytelling, writing on the history of Vigan as told by senior residents, painting, and folk dancing.

In the morning of September 8, the Solidarity Mass and renewal of pledge to heritage conservation was held at Vigan Cathedral while the history of Vigan came alive in a street drama and Solidarity parade in the afternoon. At night, a cultural show was showcased.

For three years now, the festival has been featuring the Chinese Community Solidarity Festival to appreciate the contributions of the Chinese community in the development of the city. This started on September 17 and will run until September 30 at Sikatuna street in Barangay 1.

The presence of the Indians in the city is also appreciated by the city government by staging the Indian Community Solidarity Day that began in 2017. This year, it will be on September 22 at the Indian Sikh Temple in Barangay IV.

The role of the city’s youth in the preservation of the World Heritage City is the focus of the Heritage Youth Congress on September 22 and 23 at the Vigan Convention Center.

In December 1999, Vigan City was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List of Sites and Monuments as the city, which was  established in the 16th century, is the “best-preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia. Its architecture reflects the coming together of cultural elements from elsewhere in the Philippines, from China and from Europe, resulting in a culture and townscape that have no parallel anywhere in East and South-East Asia.

National Eathquake Drill insight

National simultaneous earthquake drill insight

The Philippines frequently experiences seismic and volcanic tremors because it lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire , which is an area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where a large number of  earthquakes occurs. In recent months , for example , a number of earthquakes shook parts of the country. While there were no reported major damage or loss of life , these incident could indicate that the Big One is probably coming , as the Major Philippine fault lines have been disturbed.

For us in academe , it is best to be prepared and ready for all eventualities , because no one can predict when earthquakes will happen. School cannot be closed in advanced due to earthquakes ; neither can we suspend classes , like we do when there’s a storm warning. However , with proper training and advance planning , everyone in our school community can be prepared to react approximately during and after the occurrence of an earthquake.

The best approach is to create a comprehensive , all – hazards emergency plan and implement earthquake drills so  we can instill in the winds of students the correct procedures to be followed during the actual occurrence. All these will help ensure that there will be no confusion or panic among students and faculty members.

Healthy Lifestyle, a Healthy Life

Healthy Lifestyle, a Healthy Life

Health is Wealth , is the cliché this time of  year not only in SMAD, but in the whole country as we celebrate Nutrition Month. The reason we celebrate Nutrition Month is to remind ourselves that being healthy is very important and that if we love ourselves, we should love our body that is by practicing good health habits.

We should train ourselves to have a better lifestyle to be healthy. We should do proper exercise and eat healthy. We should make ourselves have longer energy span, we should beat the energy gap. We should set goals and beat them, not just achieve them, beat them.
Take note of what you are eating, we should control the fat and cholesterol. We should improve our body. We should also join activities related to health improvement and also to activities that is related to having a physically fit body.
Always eat healthy, do proper exercise, control what you eat, avoid eating processed foods, and also avoid eating in fast food chains and to junk foods

National Disaster Resilience Month Insight

Through past years we underestimate this disaster specially typhoon “Yolanda” we were not ready for it many house and lives were lost. So before this happen we should prepare.
Incase of any upcoming hazard or disasters, we must predict what could happen, in this case we could do something to prevent this things, because our future lies in our hands. If we know that something that would prevent this from happening.

Preparing will prevent this risk, nothing bad will happen if we prepare well, there would be no lives to be lost, but everything has an exemption, we don’t know how others will act to this things, but all we can do while there is no disasters is to prepare.

A Letter to the President

  Dear mr. president ,

First of all I would like to thank to you for all of yours sacrifices and efforts in our country. Thank for all of your supports and we congratulate you for  solving many problems in our country. And lastly we thank to you because without you, our country has full of many problems. I salute to you for your bravery and strong confident only to protect our country.
I am writing this letter on behalf of your administration. For everything you have acted while sitting as the president. I am admired for the projects you have accomplished like build-build-build project, cleaning of Manila Bay, War on Drugs and many more. And for doing a big progress on the economic growth and for doing such good things on our fellow Filipinos around the world. And I am requesting for you to take more time and attention towards the issue of the West Philippines Sea and to remove corrupt people in the Government service.

                                                                                                                                   Truly Yours,
                                                                                                                             Randy Neil Alones

Indenpendence Day

                                         A LONG ROAD TO INDEPENDENCE

As we come to celebrate the Philippines’ 121st year of independence day , it’s important for parents to teach their kids about the heroism and sacrifice that our forefathers did in order for us to have the freedom that were experiencing right now.

Our national hero , Dr. Jose Rizal , famously said that ‘Ang di lumingon sa pinanggalingan , ay hindi  makakarating sa paroroonan , and that’s very true. Knowing more about our past helps us understand our present better , and lets us prepare for the future

Which is why teaching the kids about history , and inspiring them to be nationalistic is very important as they can develop a love  for our country , and for their fellow Filipinos.

Teacher's Day

An architect said that theirs was the best, for without them, the world wouldn’t see beautiful buildings and towering skyscrapers.
“There was the most important profession, for without them, the world would not see any progress at all,” a scientist said with disagreed.
A doctor joined in the discussion and argued that without doctors, the world would not discover medicine to face disease.
But the group fell silent when an old man spoke to them. With the stories, he reminded them of their younger days. The old man reminded the scientist about his first experiment; the architect about his childhood days in art class; and the doctor about his first time to dissecting a frog,
The man was their teacher.
Through he spoke little, the men understood that without him, the architects wouldn’t have learned how to design houses, the scientists wouldn’t have unlocked the mysteries of science, and the doctors wouldn’t have learned how to heal by making medicines.
Happy World Teachers’ Day to…
…the best educators who impart great knowledge to us. Without you, the world not have seen significant progress at all.
…all the selfless, funny, simple, and inspiring teachers out there. You have been instrumental in molding the morals and values of our society. Thank you for investing your life in the next generation.
Thank you for changing the next generation. Let change the campus and change the world.’-‘

Children's Month

The Department of Education (DepEd) enjoined all private and public elementary and secondary schools to undertake activities in line with the celebration of the 2019 National Children’s Month (NCM) this November.
Education Undersecretary Alain Del Pascua, in DepEd Memorandum No. 147 series of 2019, expressed DepEd’s support to the celebration of the NCM this year which will be led by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC).
With the theme, “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan,” this year’s celebration of the NCM is made extra special as it coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC).
Pascua noted that the celebration of this year’s NCM is pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661 entitled “An Act Declaring the Month of November of Every Year as the National Children’s Month” which also commemorates the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly on November 20, 1989.
The NCM, Pascua noted, aims to “celebrate and recognize children as the most valuable assets of the nation” as well as to “emphasize the importance of their role within the Filipino family and Philippine society.” The law tasked the CWC, Department of Social and Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Youth Commission (NYC) to lead the annual celebration.
For its part, DepEd encouraged its offices and public and private schools to participate in major activities of the NCM.
This year’s celebration, Pascua noted, aims to “intensify public awareness on the rights of children and remind all sectors to be responsible in raising Filipino children to become well-rounded people, and to protect them at all costs, as enshrined in the UN CRC.”
Ultimately, the celebration aims to “empower children as rights-holders and duty-bearers to deliver commitment to promote, protect, and fulfill their rights as children.”
The said activities may include hoisting of streamer/banner of this year’s NCM celebration depicting its theme; recitation of the “Panatang Makabata” during the flag raising ceremonies on all Mondays of November; development, production and distribution of information, education and communication materials and other collaterals to include those developed by the CWC; in-class discussions on current issues such as bullying and conduct of child-friendly activities such as art contests and others

ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS MONTH

Environmental awareness means being aware of the natural environment and making choices
that benefit the earth, rather than hurt it. Some of the ways to practice environmental awareness include: using safe and non-toxic building supplies, conserving energy and water, recycling, activism, and others.

The Environmental Protection and Awareness division promotes the protection of our natural environment, the health and well-being of our citizens, increasing awareness in environmental issues. It also facilitates the participation of Non-Governmental Organisations and civil society.
Nature is very important in our life. So, we should practice how to care and love our environment.

GAD-VAWC

Violence against women (VAW) and girls is not just a major public health problem but also a grave violation of human rights. It extremely manifests gender inequity, targeting women and girls because of their subordinate status in the society. The United Nations define VAW as “any act of gender-based violence that results in, or likely to result in, physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or private life.” Violence and the threats of violence can be experienced by every woman of any age, skin color, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disabilities, economic, and social status.
Global estimates by the World Health Organization indicate that about 1 in 3 women (35%) worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual violence from intimate partner or non-partner in their lifetime. In the Philippines, the National Demographic Health Survey 2017 released by the Philippine Statistics Authority revealed that 1 in 4 Filipino women, aged 15-49, has experienced physical, emotional or sexual violence from their husband or partner.
Because VAW appears as one of the country’s pervasive social problems, various measures and mechanisms have been employed and implemented to address it. One of which is the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW, an advocacy campaign that is observed annually from November 25 to December 12 as mandated by Proclamation 1172 s. 2006

Essence of Christmas

This Christmas season, it is important for us to bear in our minds the reason why we are celebrating this yuletide season in the first place. In this month of December, it is a must for us to remember that our Lord came in this world in order to save us from our sins; He came to redeem us from the wickedness of this world.

We also have to recollect the fact that our Lord God is humble being born only in a manger. This is the message that is sent to us - we must learn how to humble ourselves, no matter how rich or financially wealthy we are because Christ himself symbolizes humility. Even though He is a son of God, He did not demanded for a special “birthing place” or become “man” in a wealthy family; instead, He was born in a poor family.

Anyway, the essence of celebrating Christmas season is not to have a house full of Christmas lights, having a tall and beautiful Christmas tree full of gifts underneath it and giving expensive gifts. Christmas basically means sharing what you have, not just the material things but also those that can only be felt like a warm, tight hug, a simple thank you, showing our appreciation to our loved ones and forgiveness among others.

Change : Its Starts With Me

Image result for CHANGE ITS STARTS WITH ME

It starts with a hope, or a thought that things can be better than they are now. Then, exploring how that might happen. Accepting that we do have the power to make change. It’s doing this versus dwelling on the negative, blaming others, shutting down new ideas, thinking it’s not worth the effort, or whatever other negative self-talk may be taking place. All those things cause us to be stuck.
You control the dialogue with yourself. If your response to everything is “I can’t, I can’t,” you will stop change from happening. I admit–I’ve been guilty of this before. What I needed to do was turn that around. To really believe the “change starts with you” mantra.
Blamethrowing?
It’s usually a pretty strong reaction to something.  This is when change makes you, because you are confronted with something–stress, or a specific situation.
Image result for CHANGE ITS STARTS WITH ME
I remember being in a work environment where everyday was a chore and I dreaded it. I didn’t realize then that change started with me. I felt trapped.  At the time, there was some limiting belief about myself that I didn’t make change, or if I did, didn’t do it fast enough. Or maybe the belief was that I could change others.
Have you been there? Either way, change starts with you.
In order to make change at any level of “stuckness,” you have to identify a small action you can take and from there gain momentum. This is, in part, what I help Creative Partnering(TM) Engagement clients to do. And I do it based on looking at what they truly want and what they naturally excel at (their strengths). Obviously, it’s highly situational to each individual, but the change has to come from having the courage to take that initial action. Action is the cornerstone of confidence–and change.
